Conflict

As we enter 2022, we know that we have Word@Work readers in all these war zones.

Please pray that they will keep on trusting in Jesus ... and be willing to share their hope in Christ with their family and friends who are living in fear.

What Jesus said, is happening in 2022!

"You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of birth-pains.

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:6-14)

This is why BeaconLight exists, and why we are so grateful for your partnership with us in prayer and giving.

2022 is the first year since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 that the West has a potential super-power conflict.  The different territorial and influence strategies of Russia and China are becoming apparent, and are a significant challenge to the democratic West that has a greatly weakened traditional defence capability.

May the Lord restrain evil wherever it has a grip on world leaders and may He raise up leaders in government, business, industry and in churches and families - to love God's Word, do it and announce it to others. That is one of the purposes of this Newsletter - to encourage us all to pray according to 1 Timothy 2:1-4:

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
